Our family have been house exchanging with Intervac for a number of years. We have had successful exchanges with families in various places in France; had opportunities to visit Colorado, Cape Cod, California,Texas and Hawaii in the United States; made two memorable visits to Canada, Victoria and Toronto plus several shorter exchanges within the United Kingdom and got rained on continually in Ireland!
We are interested in short/week breaks in the UK or Europe; as country dwellers time in a city would be good but need to coincide with school holidays. We also want to to exchange for three to four weeks during the UK school summer holidays which run from 24 July to 4 September 2010. We are open to any interesting offer - some of our best exchanges have been with places we hadn't really considered beforehand but we'd love to return to California or Hawaii, visit Florida for the first time (we must be the only Brits never to have been there) or the other seaboard states such as Georgia or Carolina. Southern Europe - Provence, Spain, Greece etc would also appeal.
We will include a car in any exchange. We own a Honda CRV (with SatNav) for fitting us all in and for longer journeys and a small Puegeot 107 as a local runabout
We also own a two double bedroomed house on a luxury resort on the Portuguese Algarve. We haven't advertised this with Intervac but we would be willing to swap time in our property (not July or August) for time in your holiday property.
